Portrait Session Pricing

I photography ALL sorts of portraits, and I also make house calls. I like doing environmental portraiture, and prefer to take “formal” portraits where you live, work, or “hang out” the most. There’s nothing I won’t do, and nothing I’m not capable of doing well. I obviously photograph weddings, bridal portraits, engagement portraits, and trash the dress portraits. Those are my chosen specialty areas. I also do family portraits, corporate head shots, model / actor portfolios, boudoir, vintage pin up, senior portraits, maternity portraits, newborn baby portraits, children portraits, real estate listing beauty shots, HDR landscape photos, and yes, even PET portraits. Basically my portrait session pricing works this way:

My creative fee is $250 per hour. For every hour of creative fee you purchase, you get $100 back in retouched prints.

Each portrait session client receives low resolution proofs that they can use on social networking site and send to their friends and family by email.

High resolution files are available for purchase. If you spend $1000 between the creative fee and products I offer (such as prints, canvas gallery wraps, albums and the like), you get the high resolution files for free.

Clients who have booked me to shoot their wedding have completely different pricing depending on what kind of coverage they’ve purchased for their wedding.

Virtually EVERYONE has a camera of some kind these days. Even if it’s built into their phone, they have one. Ask yourself this questions: “When was the last time I had a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER take my photo and actually put a print in my hands that my great great grandchildren will look at someday?” Being a few bytes of information on a hard drive in a computer or a thumbnail somewhere on a social networking site doesn’t count for much.
