My Style As A Photographer

I love what I do, and it’s so much fun to get to know a brand new family every time I do an assignment. People describe me as funny, engaging, cooperative, energetic and a very “non in your face” photographer.   It’s YOUR day, and I am there to give you a permanent keepsake of that time.  It’s not about me, it’s about you.

The basics of what I do are the interplay between subject, geometry, available light, timing, and my vision. All these factors at that moment in time are permanently captured the moment I release the shutter. What I’ve learned over the years and through capturing literally millions of frames is to take a seemingly fleeting moment in time or ordinary object and transforming it into something extraordinary.

My shooting style is always evolving. I am ALWAYS capable of giving my clients what they want. If you want photojournalism with lots of black and white, that’s exactly what you’ll get. If you want traditional with lots of poses, that’s what you’ll get. My personal favorite is a little of everything. I do not limit myself by self. I am performing a service. I am part PJ, part traditional, part fine art, part glam and I make it all 100% fun. I don’t dwell so much on what I like. I give my clients what they want.

My style is really a hybrid. I have so many inspirations that come from so many different places and try to implement them in my images. I love the raw emotion of photojournalism and the seductive, mysterious look of fashion photography. In short, my style is something I like to call “fashion photojournalism”. I believe in romantic lighting, incredible backgrounds and choosing locations very carefully. As far as my photojournalistic side-I never interrupt a moment. I never pose situations that are already so magical on their own. I am an observer most of the time with very limited intrusion only when it is desired to achieve a particualar artistic vision. Ninety percent of my images are completely natural and un-posed.

I look forward to each and every assignment simply because no two are the same, ever. There are always new challenges and new friends to make.
